Nayanmars' Guru Poojai in their Avathara Thalangal

Nayanmars' guru poojais are being conducted throughout Tamil nadu in all major temples, but not in their Avathara thalangal (Birth places). With a view to conduct guru poojais in the birth places of Nayanmars, Uzhavaram has started a scheme of instituting life time dedicated Thondars (servitors to Nayanmars)  for individual avathara thalam of Nayanmars.

  The first one to join in this scheme was Mathuram Elementary school, Melaiyur in the year 1985, This scheme had been extended to all the 63 Avathara thalams, Now 63 life time dedicated Thondars (Servitors to Nayanmars) had come forward to perform this divine service.

Uzhavaram - Activities

Starting of Uzhavaram and Annual Conferences

With the purpose of coordinating saiva organisations in tamil nadu. Uzhavaram, a non-profit organisation was started at mayiladuthurai on 24-07-1983.

1st Conference... 07,08-01-1984, Mayiladuthurai.
2nd Conference... 28,29-04-1984, Madurai.
3rd Conference... 20,21-07-1985, Trichy.
4th Conference... 20,21-09-1986, Erode.
5th Conference... 20,21-05-1988, Neyveli.
6th Conference... 10-06-1989, Mayiladuthurai.
7th Conference... 1,2-07-1990, Chidambaram.
8th Conference... 17-12-2001, Mayiladuthurai.
9th Conference... 4,5-08-2001, Mayiladuthurai.
10th Conference... Chidambaram.

After 2003, every year conference was conducted both at Chennai and Mayiladuthurai.
